Raffles International School (RIS) offers the full continuum of the UK-based, globally recognised, Cambridge International curriculum leading up to IGCSE and A-levels. It also offers BTEC Business for students after GCSE. RIS is the first school in the UAE to offer a unique combination of Montessori Pre-school and an enriched Cambridge International curriculum, further enhanced by a well-developed language studies programme.
Although RIS is predominantly an English-medium school, it offers Arabic A and Arabic B along with French and Mandarin as second language. French, Spanish, Russian and Hindi mother-tongue programmes are offered to native speakers, as well as an English Language Support programme.
The internationally-recognised Montessori Programme is offered in the Foundation Stage, the Cambridge Primary Programme (CPP) in Year 1 to 6, Cambridge Secondary 1 (CS1) for the Secondary School in Year 7 to 9, IGCSEs from Year 10 to 11, and A-Levels in Year 12 with Year 13 to start in 2018-19.
RIS provides the foundations necessary for a child’s education and the ‘scaffolded’ support to facilitate their growth in a secure learning environment.
Established in 2007, RIS has grown to educate more than 1600 pupils from more than 90 nationalities. Accredited by the Council of International Schools, the British Schools Overseas and British Schools of the Middle East networks, RIS is also a Cambridge International Examinations Centre allowing students to complete their external examinations on site.
