Never stop improving yourself. It sounds quite vague and unimportant but it is true. Take it from me, when I first came to DIA, it took me a while to understand what my teachers expected of me and how to make effective improvements to myself academically.
At CAS out girl's personalities bloomed - they became comfortable & were an active part of their schools in the first month. From the beginning, we all felt that we fit, blended in like we are all part of one big family.
I joined DIA in August 2010 and my journey so far has been enlightening. When I joined, I was completely new to the IB and now I fully understand and appreciate the IB philosophy.
One of the great things about DIA Al Barsha is we all know each other - even the students in other classes and we are very close to them. In some classes we do work together which makes the class more fun
My family and I moved to Dubai in July 2017 to start the next chapter of our 20 year expat career. I oversee the DIA Parent Association and support other projects as well as attending Advisory Council meetings
I love the diversity of CAS and the supportive families. It's always a pleasure to see familiar faced each year which makes CAS feel like a family. I moved to Dubai in 2011 and have been teaching Grade 1 classes at CAS since 2013.
Having been in Dubai for nearly 11 years and being a teacher myself, we were well aware of which type of school we were looking for – Internationalism being at the top at our list. We are happy to acknowledge we have found the perfect school showcasing this from when you walk into the school, meeting the parents and students to the environment in the classrooms.
We have been a part of the Raffles World Academy family since 2016 since our daughter joined in KG1. As one of the pioneering IB schools in Dubai, RWA was our natural choice. The recently improved KHDA rating from “Good “ to “Very Good” stands testimony to its quality standards and illustrates their dedication to meet IB standards & reinforces our decision to continue with RWA
At Raffles World Academy they do things differently. As a parent when my child walks in and says to me “ The grass isn’t greener on the other side Mum, it’s where you water it “ I am in awe of the way the teachers at school play their roles in nurturing small minds.
Since joining Raffles World Academy three years ago, I have always felt part of an amazing school community. A community where everyone helps and supports each other to make sure our students get the best quality education, to achieve their potential and to develop them as lifelong learners.
I have worked at RWA for the past 8 years and have seen many positive changes happen within the school during this time. What I value the most about RWA is the strong sense of community spirit it possesses, and the mix of nationalities of both staff and students, which truly embodies our ethos of ‘international – mindedness.
I have been at RWA for 12 years, and every day I have spent here has always been one of joy, of fun, and of learning. I always leave the school saying “that was a fantastic day” as I would always learn and make memories. The staff and students have always been so nice, and I am glad I have attained all my education goals from this one, great, place.
I have been in this spectacular school for as long as I can remember; every day has been a memorable day. Why? You may ask. Well, learning here is learning comfortably and creatively in a clean, positive environment. I wake up with a massive smile on my face knowing I am going to learn and have a bunch of fun. This is the world’s best school.
I have been in this school for five long years of great joy and happiness. I have been very, very proud of this school, excellent principals, excellent teachers, and a school full of delight. I hope this school goes to outstanding to astonishing all over the world! To me, everyday has been a bright and cheerful day from KG1 to Grade 5!
Teaching in DIA is an extremely rewarding experience. The opportunities that are provided to staff and students are exceptional, both inside and outside the classroom. The school is truly international with teachers and students from across the world contributing the DIA community.
It is a privilege to be part of such a dedicated team at DIA. The teachers are really in tune with each child’s needs: cognitive, social and emotional. This school is remarkable and it is growing more resilient and stronger. The school also supports the staff by providing timely professional development courses. In my experience, DIA is in the top echelon of schools.
I am thrilled to be a part of this amazing school. The opportunities that the school provides for the students makes me want to go back to being a student. “No one can whistle a symphony. It takes a whole orchestra to play it” – HE Luccock. This quote is the heartbeat of DIA
DIA has been a second home for my 2 kids , one in Year 13 and one in Year 8, for last 8 years. Academics to sports, interschool competitions to international trips DIA has provided holistic development for kids and preparing for their bright future. DIA provides the platform for the real life experiences - take risk, explore and deliver beyond imagination.
Working at Raffles International School has helped to broaden my horizon and outlook on my career. The SLMT have been mentors who have recognised my passion and strengths, they have encouraged me to grow and aspire to do wonderful things as a teacher and a team leader. RIS has given me the opportunity to further my qualifications with the TQUK course facilitating exposure to new and innovative way to improve learning in the classrooms.
My family have been at RIS for the past 12 years and in that time we have watched a school community grow from strength to strength, continually striving for excellence. Beyond the high quality academic education taught in Primary and Secondary school, the values and experiences, which we deem important for our children, are reflected in the RIS school environment.
I have had the good fortune to study in a school like RIS- a VERY GOOD one! Simply because of its high standards of education and a very international curriculum. It is a melting pot of cultures, languages and ideas from over 95 countries!
RIS opens many opportunities and corridors to children. We study a variety of topics; a large set of activities are open to us and we get to pick from a range of subjects in secondary. RIS is full of innovation, excitement and progress. Our school has a manageable schedule, interesting subjects such as STEM or Art each fulfilled with fun activities.
I joined Raffles at the end of year 10 and now I have been here for a year and a half. I have grown and adapted greatly to my environment and every day I seem to learn something new: whether in terms of my surroundings, people or academics.
My first impression of Raffles International School was how warm and welcoming the staff and students are. I could see that it was a caring and collaborative community and I loved the way the whole school celebrated international mindedness allowing children from all sorts of backgrounds to celebrate their customs, culture and traditions, not just on one special day but throughout the year.
