The TQUK Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training (RQF) is designed for learners who work as teachers, trainers and tutors in further education, adult and community learning or work-based training within public, private, voluntary or community organisations and are looking to prepare to teach in a wide range of contexts.

This qualification provides you with a basic knowledge of working in health, social care and children and young people’s settings. Completion of this qualification will help you develop knowledge and awareness of the types of provision in the health, social care and children and young people’s sectors, including the roles played by workers – from principles and values through to health and safety and working with others. You will also gain knowledge in more specialised areas such as learning disability, sensory loss and mental health.

Completion of this qualification is achieved through a combination of classroom-based learning and experience in the workplace. All the units within this qualification are vocationally based, directly helping you gain the knowledge, understanding and skills required to work to work with children between birth and 5 years, with knowledge of children up to 7 years. There are units covering learning, development and play. Learners could also progress on to the Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Workforce.

The Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Workforce (Early Years Educator) prepares learners to become Early Years Educators, enabling them to work with and care for children from birth to 5 years and gain knowledge of children aged 5 to 7 years. Upon achievement of this qualification, it is intended that learners will be able to enter the workforce as Early Years Educators.

NCFE CACHE has worked collaboratively with the Crossfields Institute to develop this specialist level 4 Early Years qualification to provide Montessori teacher training courses. It aims to train educators who can work with children and those who support children to develop a sound foundation for sustainable, responsible citizenship from the earliest years of children’s development. The aim of this qualification is to provide the learner with the expertise, skills and professional approach needed to become a facilitator of Montessori education, including classroom-based and placement hours. The Level 4 qualification also includes preparation to take on a leadership role in a Montessori setting.
